Patrick Dempsey, star of Grey’s Anatomy, was chosen as People magazine’s 2023 sexiest man alive.

People magazine has dubbed actor Demi Dempsey the “sexiest man alive.”

Between 2005 and 2015, Dempsey—who portrayed neurosurgeon Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd on Grey’s Anatomy—made more than 250 appearances in the popular medical drama. Before departing the show in 2019, he made a comeback in 2019 as Dr. Shepherd in a recurring role.

Additionally, Dempsey starred in the Disney blockbuster Enchanted from 2007 and its follow-up Disenchanted from 2022. In the upcoming Ferrari biopic, he plays the role of real-life Italian Formula One driver Piero Taruffi. Having competed in multiple professional races, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Dempsey called his role from the previous year the “best role I have ever had.” He has three kids with Jillian Fink, the creator of a beauty line and makeup artist. Other “sexiest man alive” honorees include actor Paul Rudd from Ant-Man, singer John Legend, Brad Pitt, Harrison Ford, and Mel Gibson, who was honoured as the publication’s inaugural recipient in 1985.
