Has Harvard’s Avi Loeb, the “alien hunter,” discovered evidence of extraterrestrial life?

Astrophysicist Avi Loeb of Harvard has been searching for extraterrestrial life for many years.

Using an international network of telescopes, he is currently recording the entire sky. Recently, he visited Papua New Guinea to look into the possibility that a meteor discovered in 2014 was a component of an interstellar spaceship. Loeb is carrying out the bulk of the work without accepting any funding for the research or making any requests. His show on Netflix is set to premiere. He is the author of the best-selling book Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth, as well as hundreds of papers.

Before a strangely shaped object zipped through our solar system in 2017, Loeb was largely unknown. Its “extreme dimensions” led astronomers to the conclusion that it must be interstellar. The Hawaiian word for “scout” or “first distant messenger,” ‘Oumuamua, was applied to the official designation, 1I/2017 U1. Astronomers discovered additional anomalies after conducting additional analysis, including the asteroid’s acceleration as it passed the sun. Afterwards, Loeb postulated that ‘Oumuamua might be a solar sail from an interstellar spacecraft, accelerating through space with the help of sunlight.

The $22 million budget was utilised to look into reported sightings and unexplained events after the Pentagon acknowledged in 2017 that it was looking into UFOs. Riding the wave of interest, Loeb achieved worldwide recognition and rose to prominence in the field of astrophysics.
