A true story about Leonardo DiCaprio’s “Killers of the Flower Moon”

Osage people in Oklahoma have accepted Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” movie despite the horrific events it depicts.

According to actress Lily Gladstone, the movie is both a celebration of representation and a confronting experience. Gladstone’s portrayal of Leonardo DiCaprio’s Osage wife is also explored in the movie. Despite loving his wife and kids, DiCaprio’s character gives in to pressure from his uncle and takes part in the murderous scheme. Despite Hollywood’s historically inaccurate depictions of American Indians, the film seeks to tell the truth about the murders of American Indians in Oklahoma in the 1920s. In both on- and off-camera scenes, Scorsese made sure the Osage led the narrative.
