Christian music provides a “look into what heaven must be like,” says King & Country.

Grammy-winning group “For King & Country” talked about the importance of Christian music in spiritual development at the 2023 Dove Awards, saying that it gives listeners an idea of what Heaven might be like.

According to Luke Smallbone of For King & Country, a song has the power to change a person’s life by giving them a glimpse of what Heaven might be like. He added that since it is uncommon to witness someone with genuine joy singing to God, singing songs to God can help people grow spiritually.

Grammy-winning performer Jordin Sparks joined the Australian duo for a performance of “Love Me Like I Am” during the annual awards show. Christian music, according to Smallbone, has an underlying message of love, hope, and unity. It is about people coming together and accepting each other for who they are. Morrisiah Peters Smallbone, the spouse of Joel Smallbone of For King & Country, emphasised that music acts as a unifying force between cultures and people, uniting seemingly incompatible groups.

The song “Love Me Like I Am” by For King & Country and Sparks was nominated for Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year, but it was lost to Blessing Offor’s “Brighter Days.”
