Erdogan asks the West, “Do You Want To Start Crescent-Crusader Conflict Again”?

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the president of Turkey, has attacked Western nations for the “massacre” of Palestinians in Gaza by the Israeli army.

Erdogan has become more outspoken as the number of people reportedly killed by Israel’s military response to the terror attack on October 7 has increased, despite his initial cautious response to the surprise attack carried out by Hamas militants that claimed over 1,400 lives.

Over 3,500 children were among the 7,703 civilians who died as a result of Israeli strikes, according to the health ministry in Gaza, which is under the control of Hamas. 1.5 million people attended a pro-Palestinian rally organised by Erdogan’s party, which has Islamic roots, in Istanbul. The speaker levelled criticism at Israel and its allies in the West, saying they were “shedding tears” over the deaths of civilians in Ukraine while ignoring the deaths of Palestinian civilians in Gaza. He urged discussion and insisted that everyone benefit from a just peace. Erdogan is perceived as responding to the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Palestinians with his call for dialogue.
