In honour of their late bandmate Sarah Harding, Girls Aloud will get back together for an arena tour in 2024.
Social media was used by the band to announce the tour and to share a video of themselves looking forward to getting back together. In 2021, Harding, who had 21 UK Top 10 hits, lost her battle with breast cancer. The group has refuted rumours that they are working on a new record or music video.
Girls Aloud first appeared on the ITV reality series Popstars: The Rivals in 2002. Their first hit, Sound of the Underground, went on to become the first of four No. 1 hits in the UK chart. With four of their five studio albums reaching the Top 10, they became the biggest-selling girl group of the twenty-first century in the United Kingdom. David Cameron, the former prime minister, and Bono, the former mayor of London, were among his well-known admirers.
The Promise, their number one hit, took home the 2009 Brit award for best single. The group’s greatest hits album, Ten, was released in 2012 following a break to concentrate on solo endeavours. In 2013, the band announced their breakup following the conclusion of their reunion tour in Liverpool.
