Maryam Nawaz will lead the party after Nawaz

During a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan, former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif subtly declared his daughter Maryam to be his political heir.

Sharif, 73, acknowledged his allegiance to the nation and expressed regret over unfounded allegations made against him, Maryam, his brother Shehbaz, the former foreign minister, and other PML-N leaders. He was pleased to see loyalty in the eyes of his people and asserted that his relationship with the country is unchanged from when he left.

Maryam is senior vice president of the PML-N, she is 49. She asked questions of the audience and expressed her gratitude for their love for more than an hour while she was at the podium. When her father arrived, she urged everyone present to greet him with great enthusiasm.

Maryam stressed that Nawaz Sharif’s supporters were sincere and that the retaliation her party faced from rivals was “the greatest injustice.” When her father arrived at the location, she urged everyone present to greet him with great enthusiasm.

Following the release of a brief video clip featuring Maryam and Humza Shehbaz waving to the crowds on PML-official X’s account, Maryam received a mixed response on social media. Leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party Zulfi Bukhari praises her too for X, but he cautions that she could “destroy” the party as well.
