Israeli military rescues a captured IDF soldier.

Israeli officials have verified the release of Ori Megidish, a soldier taken prisoner by Hamas during an attack on southern Israel on October 7. After being freed during a ground operation, the soldier is doing well. Megidish’s family was featured in a picture released by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, but the military has not offered any information regarding her release.

Israel’s Energy Minister, Israel Katz, commended Shin Bet, Israeli army commanders, and soldiers for their increased use of force in Gaza. Following the release of a video by Hamas depicting three hostages held captive in Gaza, the announcement was made. Around 230 individuals, including Israeli soldiers and civilians, were taken hostage by Hamas during an attack on southern Israel on October 7. Over 1,400 people were killed in the attack, the majority of them civilians, according to Israeli claims. After the assault, Israel bombarded Gaza mercilessly, depriving over 2.3 million people of their access to fuel, food, water, and electricity.
